The Young Texan Ambassador (YTA) program supports the next generation of community and environmental leaders.
The program serves youth ages 15-25 for a 9-month service learning and environmental education program. Each ambassador completes a cleanup and a capstone service project in their community.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality strives to protect our state's public health and natural resources consistent with sustainable economic development. Our goal is clean air, clean water, and the safe management of waste.

The Turtle Hospital opened its doors in 1986 with four main goals: 1) Rehab injured sea turtles and release them back to their natural habitat. 2) Educate the public by visiting local schools and attending outreach programs. 3) Conducting and assisting with research aiding sea turtles (in collaboration with state universities). 4) Working toward environmental legislation making the beaches and water safe for sea turtles.
American Tortoise Rescue (ATR), a nonprofit organization established in 1990 for the protection of all species of turtles and tortoises, will “shellebrate®” its 23rd international World Turtle Day® on May 23.
